Andreja Tokić
She completed University of Applied Health Sciences in Zagreb, specialising in Physiotherapy (2000) and Occupational Therapy (2002). She did her internship in Split. Subsequently, she worked in the “Đulić” Tennis Centre in Široki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as leader of the Physiotherapy Centre. In the Centre, she worked with preschool and school children who were training in tennis, and designed and initiated the “Physiotherapy Playroom” project, which was implemented in a private kindergarten in Široki Brijeg, where children learned through play about natural breathing, sitting and movement.
After returning to Split, she worked as organiser and leader of physiotherapy activities in the Association for the Preservation and Improvement of Health “Aktiv-Split”, where she continued implementing the “Physiotherapy Playroom” project in some twenty public kindergartens, which involved around 1,500 children. As part of the project, she also worked in the “Dva prijatelja” kindergarten for children with special needs. Working on postural retraining, she became increasingly involved in working with children with special needs. In parallel, she completed many courses, such as the Bobath Course, Normal Movement, Haliwich Swimming School, Three-dimensional Foot Mobilisation, Functional Taping with Japanese Strintex Tape, etc, all led by international trainers, as well as Bewegungs Evolution (Evolution of Movement) with Martina Kuntswald in Bremen, Germany.
After completing her specialisation as a hippotherapist in Slovenia, she founded the Croatian Hippotherapy Association in 2008, which she led until 2017.
Since 2003, she has been a member of the Croatian Society of Physiotherapists (HZF). From 2007 to 2017 she was President of the Admission Council of the Croatian Society of Physiotherapists.
She completed training in the Alexander Technique in Freiburg, Germany, in 2017 under Aranka Fortwängler. Since then, she has been a member of ATVD (Alexander-Technik-Verband Deutschland).
In the same year, after completing the study of Alexander Technique, she founded A.T. STUDIO d.o.o. She has a private practice in Kaštel Lukšić where she puts the Alexander Technique into practice, focusing mainly on work with children, orthopaedic, rheumatological and neurological cases.
